The apple cider vinegar gout home remedy treatment was reviewed by 26 users from January 2011 to December 2011:
85%, 22 out of 26 users of the apple cider vinegar gout treatment, reported it was very effective in reducing or eliminating their gout symptoms (pain & swelling) within about 48 hours and several remarked that they were happy that this home remedy does not have the side effects that conventional medical treatments have.
Several people mentioned that the apple cider vinegar by itself was not enough but when they added a little honey, the procedure worked for them.
Four users said that the vinegar had no effect and where going to try the ACV procedure a little longer or look for alternate gout remedies.
Most people drank the apple cider vinegar mixed with water or juice and some added honey.
Many participants used an organic apple cider vinegar containing the mother, such as the Bragg brand, whereas others reported that regular non organic ACV worked for them.
In one case ACV was applied topically to the affected area overnight and was found to be very helpful in reducing the gout symptoms quickly.
Another person explained that he was taking the ACV tonic regularly as a gout prevention technique.

Good evening,
Following a gout attack, I browsed your site and I can confirm the benefits of apple cider vinegar.
Again thank you for your help.
I have been dealing with gout for five years now. I tried the meds and other things like baking soda water.
Nothing works better for me than Apple Cider Vinegar with The Mother. I buy BRAGG ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. I take 3 TBS. each meal. Gout is gone!
You must try it. Just don't do it on an empty stomach. It is powerful stuff and, on an empty stomach, will possibly make you want to puke.
I just read about ACV online last week.
Have been suffering with gout for about 2 yrs, getting more attacks than none. I have had gout for the past three weeks, not able to put my foot in any shoes, sneakers, etc. Very painful.
I went online and read about ACV last week. I went home and started taking it right away: 1 Tbl. ACV, 1 honey, and 8oz of warm water.
My swelling and pain are almost gone and for the first time in three weeks I was able to put my foot in a shoe.
This is a miracle cure straight from God's earth. All natural. I will take this for the rest of my life. Thank you Internet.
I have found that vinegar and honey dose more than relieve gout, it also cleans your veins out but you need the honey to take the vinegar into the blood stream to do it's job.
Honey dose not need to go completely though the digestive system it is absorbed from the stomach and caries the vinegar with it that is why it works better with honey.
I don't drink.. Haven't touched a fish since Ahab had that run-in with his dinner, yet my feet swell, turn red hot and refuses to put one (foot) in front of the other.
Recently have also had knee pain (for no other reason except gout) also sharp pains that shoot up my leg (from the source) in second increments.
I've used ACV with honey, without honey but it does not seem to help (been a week of three per day treatments so far). Also used black cherry concentrate, baking soda mixture (soda/lemon) but still no relief.
I'll keep trying (can't hurt) but I can't seem to get rid of this pain. Have been reading multiple success stories but fail in personal relief.. Any other suggestions out there?
Fellow Gout Sufferers,
Few understand the intense pain associated with gout. I personally have had attacks so bad that I would pray for death. It typically attacks my ankle and Achilles tendon area. Moving the foot is out of the question, much less standing on it. The pain is excruciating and only scalding hot water at the site will help at all. So with that in mind, I was desperate for a natural cure that didn't involve the dreaded side effects of Colchicine.
I can tell you from many years of suffering from gout, that ACV with "The Mother" does work. In my experience it is important to use this particular type of ACV as it seems to be pure and unpasteurized. I have tried the regular ACV that you can buy in any grocery store and it does not seem to work nearly as well.
The key is to drink this regularly as a preventative and, if necessary, aggressively if you feel an attack coming on. Gout sufferers should never be without their supply of ACV with "The Mother". Bragg at GNC is what I specifically use.
I have tried other things like baking soda, honey, cherries, celery seed, etc. It's hard to isolate the specific "key", and perhaps it's a combination of all of these things, but I am CERTAIN ACV is a big component in alleviating my gout pain.
When I have an attack (usually because I have NOT been taking my ACV as a daily preventative) I mix about 5 tablespoons in a large 10 oz cup of water. Sometimes I add aspartame to sweeten it slightly. I have gotten used to the bad taste. I drink 5-8 cups a day and it flushes my system out. Usually the pain and swelling starts to subside after about 8 hours. The gout is completely cleared up within 72 hours. Sometimes i take ibuprofen as well to help with the immediate pain. Be careful not to take more than recommended.
Remember, drinking ACV with "The Mother" frequently throughout the day is crucial in my experience. Keep your foot elevated at night if possible. You may very well be amazed when you wake up the next morning! I know I was. It truly is my miracle cure!
I started using apple cider vinegar as a general health tonic a few years ago, and have not looked back since!
I recently recommended it to my Aunt, for her gout, and since drinking it regularly, she has experienced no pain.
I would particularly recommend using apple cider vinegar "with mother" as this has not been pasteurised and is very beneficial.

Late, due to professional demands, here are some extra info on my "experiences".
As I explained previously, the doctor had prescribed treatment with Allopurinol for three months, started in January and ended in late March.
But my right knee was still painful and it did not prevent a gout attack from occurring in mid-February. Feeling it coming, I had it stopped in 24 by taking a massive dose of Colchimax ... I have a very strong stomach.
I therefore assume that Allopurinol should be more or less effective depending on the subject.
So I began my experience with apple cider vinegar and it very quickly helped my knee.
My method:
2 c. tablespoons (30 ml) apple cider vinegar in a wine glass filled with Vichy Celestine, 2 doses, the first in the morning around 10 am, between breakfast and lunch, and the second one in the evening, 1 hour before bed.
This works for me and may be valid for other people, assuming that vinegar taken with meals is less effective because it is diluted in food.
No more gout since February ( remember that I have not taken Allopurinol since late March)
Results of blood, plasma uric acid measurements, the values must be between 30 and 70:
January 2011: 80
June 2011: 70
So, I came back from a value higher than the upper limit of the allowable range.
The filtering capacity of my kidneys is good (very important with regard to gout):
Clearance calculated as per Cockcroft: 78.03. At 60 there is moderate renal insufficiency. I will explain this further, and its relationship with gout.
Although annoyed ... My doctor still has acknowledged that the apple cider vinegar seemed more effective in my case than Allopurinol. In addition, I lost a little weight.
However, I continue to drink lots of beer and I find myself faced with another problem: an increase in my liver GGT. Nothing serious. However, my doctor told me it was due to the vinegar added to the drinking. So he asked me to stop the vinegar (and drink less beer at the same time) for a few weeks.
The filtering capacity of the kidneys:
It seems that many people with gout have lazy kidneys, which results in poor elimination of uric acid. My doctor asked me to force myself to drink a full glass of water every hour. He told me it was a kind of gymnastics for the kidneys and that it would stimulate them.
Although within the normal range in terms of filtering capacity according to the analysis, I find that I urinated very little in the day. Now I drink lots of water, urinate frequently and am sure that I eliminate more.
I hope this helps. In my case, I have a healthy balanced diet but it is clear that my gout came from my excessive consumption of beer.

I left a comment early May on the results of my experiences after finding this site.
I will add a few lines here to give some clarification.
First my "method":
I get better results as follows: 2 tablespoons (30 mL) cider vinegar in a wine glass supplemented with water from Vichy Celestin, 2 times a day so every 12 hours between breakfast and lunch, and evening, 1 hour before bed.It works very well, better than taking vinegar at mealtime and I get incredible results! My right toe that was still slightly swollen (but not pain) is back to normal. I still had a few creaks in my right knee that have completely disappeared!
Even my GP who is nevertheless quite reserved about many things, confirmed to me the virtues of apple cider vinegar.
I was having a gout attack every 45 days, bearable insofar as feeling them coming, I was stopping them immediately with Colchimax.
No more crisis since mid-February!
Blood test to check the levels of uric acid and the kidneys' ability to filter will be provided in 3 days, I'm sure it will be better than the previous analysis.

To my gout brothers and sisters, ACV does indeed work.
I lost my gout pills (almost had a heart attack) and you know what comes next, the ATTACK.
Found lots of positive feedback on the internet about apple cider vinegar and gave it a try. I can walk again and feel great.
Just took two drinks last night cant believe how fast it worked. I used Bragg, got it at GNC, and it has become part of my diet.
Suffered with gout for 2 years.
Done a lot of research on gout... Started exercising...swimming...fresh vegetables and fruits... No meat, no fish, no booze, strict discipline in food.
Started drinking ACV.
No gout for 2 years even though I eat lots of shrimps.
God bless ACV!
I have suffered gout attacks for years, tried apple cider vinegar (two tablespoons in water three times a day). After a week, noticed little improvement.
I re-read all comments and decided to add honey. Noticed big improvement after 1 day. Two weeks of ACV and honey treatment, all symptoms of gout had disappeared.
Word of warning: if you don't continue the treatment and watch your diet, expect gout to return.
I have found my diet to be a balancing act. Trial and error will soon tell you what you can and can't eat to stay free from gout attacks.

My foot was very swollen and it hurt so bad that I couldn't put my foot down.
After having tried 2 or 3 types of anti-arthritic creams and emptied a box of anti-inflammatory tablets, I searched the internet.
Since I already had organic apple cider vinegar at home, at 6 o'clock in the morning, I took 2 coffee spoons (5 ml) of apple cider vinegar with 2 coffee spoons (5 ml) of water and 2 coffee spoons (5 ml) of fruit sirup. At 10 o'clock I felt a little better and at that time I doubled the dose, that is to say 4 coffee spoons (10 ml) of each.
I feel much better. I am pretty sure that tonight I will be able to walk like before.
It is like a real miracle. We are treating ourselves with products laying around in our cupboards, and without any side effects!!!
Thanks to apple cider vinegar and thanks also for the advice.
I have been suffering from gout for more than 10 years. I've tried everything from bee sting to oral meds. They helped for a while but my gout keeps coming back.
Now I'm on ACV for two weeks. Now I noticed that the tophi I have in my ear hurts and is so red. And my ankle also hurts together with my index finger.
So I took a pain killer (arcoxia) to ease the pain. Can anybody explain what's happening? Is the ACV working or making my gout worse?
Apple-cider-vinegar-benefits.com- you have not mentioned if you have tried the apple cider vinegar bath in combination with the apple cider vinegar drink.
If you think that the apple cider vinegar that you are taking orally is causing you problems, then you could try just the ACV bath and see if that helps. And, as always, please consult your doctor.
It is good to see some natural home remedies that can be used to treat the pain of gout.
These remedies do not have the side effects that conventional medical treatments have.

AWESOME.
Suffering from an acute attack of gout, I did not believe in home remedies anymore.
Still, I applied gauze soaked in apple cider vinegar to my affected toe, overnight.
24 hours later, no more pain! My thanks to you, and to the vinegar!!
(Translated from French)
I think the effects and results vary from one person to another. As far as I'm concerned, IT'S THE BEST!
I took Allopurinol as prescribed by my doctor for 6 months. It saved me from acute crises, but my right knee was always sore.
I must say that I have a healthy diet, but I love booze ... And booze is good for uric acid ...
Personally I tried the following remedy since yesterday morning:
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (not even organic) mixed with half a glass of Vichy Celestin, morning, noon and night.
Believe it or not, yesterday afternoon I was already seeing results!
Today, no more knee pain, I can again do squats without any problems.
I will continue the treatment tomorrow, it will be three days then and I'll see over time.
(Translated from French)
Okay well for me, I'm unfortunately like Pierre, except that I tried for 48 hours (with 3 doses per day as recommended) but it still hurts at the end of the 2nd day, with the same pain that prevents me from walking.
So I'll take "colchimax" and continue the vinegar at the same time!
Well yes, it's not "Lourdes ".
My cure may possibly take several months!
But a friend of mine tried ACV and found an improvement!
I may have a case too advanced for it to work in 48 hours.
Good luck to all those with the gout!

Victim of a third gout crisis, I tried your recipe - Vinegar/honey/water three times a day.
Results the next day, a stomach pain, worse than the day before.
I do not know if your testimonials are real or posted by vinegar lobbyists but, in any event, it is clear that your potion has no effect! Returning therefore to the starting point: colchicine and patience!..
apple-cider-vinegar-benefits.com As outlined on our site, the gout home remedy usually gives results within two days, sometimes working in less than 24 hours. Your case could have possibly benefited from an additional 24 hours accompanied by ACV baths, as suggested.
My boyfriend had read all the testimonies of people suffering with gout with great scepticism until he tried the remedy of ACV and honey.
He was astonished with the results.
No pain after couple of hours and all swelling and redness gone in two days.
Thank you all for the advice.

For several weeks I have had frequent gout attacks.
The anti-inflammatories are little help.
I tried apple cider vinegar. Not only does it have a good taste, but it is really effective against gout attacks.
As usual, nature gives us excellent remedies.
(Translated from French)
I have suffered for years with gout, to the point of sometimes staying in bed for 3 days.
I bought some apple cider vinegar called "grand cuvée de Maille", it is quite expensive but not harsh.
The results are spectacular, I can walk again like a young man!
(Translated from French)
I drank some apple cider vinegar one day after the start of a gout attack and within 48 hours I was 80% better.
The next day, all the swelling had disappeared and I could walk normally.
Incredible!!!
I am going to take some regularly, as a preventative.
I had a major gout flare up, I drank tons and tons of water like what I have read numerous times... usually it takes care of it! But this time it didn't, the next day the pain was tremendous, worst I have ever had.
I was online looking for anyway to help, and I came across this site with ACV... I cannot tell you all. It was a GODSEND.
Within a few days I could walk again.
TRY IT!!!!
If you don't believe in miracles...you will.
Drink 1 ounce of organic ACV with 2-3 ounces of apple cider in the morning and one before bedtime.
That's it. You're done.
Your pain will subside within hours and will be gone within 2 days.
Been using it for years!!
ACV does work very effectively for Gout!!
Its the cheapest and best remedy!!
